Ash: What has been going on? What's what's what's new?

Holly: I like I say this every episode. ⁓ have anything to bring. My life outside of this guys is very mundane. School runs, housework, cooking. Do know what mean? Nothing to bring. ⁓

Holly: Well, I've been to Disney and we'll talk about that. That's what we're going to talk about in the pod. So.

Ash: Yeah. I I mean, yeah, to be fair that that's true. And same, you know. I have

Holly: But you Ash, you always have something interesting to bring. have you been up to in the last four weeks? ⁓

Ash: Well, I mean, yeah. Four weeks. what has been up to in the last four weeks. Well, I did go to Disney as well. I went like a couple of weeks after you. We will be speaking about that later on. and I've getting into models. I've fully my granddad era. I've always been an old soul at heart. Ones that know me that. How I dress, what I'm

Holly: Yeah. Models?

Ash: How grumpy I am. models just basically ⁓ the bus to my really. at the weekend I have these like you know, I'll have the it'll be like a grocery store, be a cafe, there'll be different types of models. I can't remember what the company is now, but we ⁓ saw it

Holly: Like models of what? Bye.

Ash: while we was like just window shopping in Harrods as do. And we into the toy section and there was ⁓ looks a bit fun to do, let's try do that and then we brought it during Christmas. ⁓ And then I got obsessed with because it the lights as well. You can turn the lights on in the shop and you got the door opening and then it just became the thing now I've got like four or five of them. And it reminds me on Main Street the way that they are. ⁓

Holly: Yeah. I was going to say I can see why this is attracted to you to be honest.

Ash: Yeah, yeah. So then I'll yeah, I'll probably ⁓ yeah, probably. ⁓ like a street. ⁓ street. ⁓ yeah. ⁓ exactly. Well now the Lego is out, so ⁓ mate. like I just to like clear things off, do you know what I mean? And just ⁓ put ⁓ I it's just it's ridiculous at this But ⁓

Holly: But you're make like a whole town? Is that the goal? Like eventually you'll have like a whole scene? Yeah. Main Street. Would you keep it? or wipe the kitchen table.

Ash: Yeah, that's what's been keeping me busy. Cool, you ⁓ Yeah? So

Holly: ⁓ nice, cool. Nah, we all have our little hobbies. mean, do you know what? I think if that's what you like, I think great. I always get caught up in like, I mean, I had just to preface this. I haven't bought any of these yet, but every year at Christmas time, you know, like you can buy the Christmas village scenes and they've got like rides or like shops and like, yeah, I would love to have one of them, but I want to think Birdie would destroy it in three seconds for that. they're very expensive.

Ash: Mm. Yeah, yeah. Mm.

Holly: So I can see how that's like appealing because every year I'm like, day I'll have a whole Christmas village with a little train that goes round. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Ash: Yeah. It's just this incremental do you know what I mean? I would do it for like half an hour, forty five minutes, an hour, however long I want to do it really. then you'll look at how you started till like in the next few weeks like, actually mate, I've already this is coming along nicely and do you know mean? ⁓ ⁓ it's ⁓ fun.

Holly: Coming together, We've got a population of 100 now.

Ash: There will all be arcades and avenues listeners. They will all be arcades and avi news listeners. Yeah. Yeah. Hopefully not all the that's not just the listeners. They're actually real people that will listen in as well. But yeah. ⁓ I I will I'll make a part of the reality. It's like Sims, but in real life. ⁓

Ash: Yeah, yeah, exactly. ⁓ we've got a lot of news. A lot of things. A lot of things. It's gonna be quite a packed schedule folks. But gonna let you start off with it. what's happening?

Holly: Okay, so the news. So last night Disneyland Paris shared with us a sneak peek of the new Calvacade coming to Disney Adventure World in, what's next week, 24th of July. So this is a princess Calvacade. I think there's four floats. Don't quote me on that. There's a Raya, a Tiana, Rapunzel, Moana? Yeah. Yeah.

Ash: Yeah. Yeah. A Moana. Yeah, yeah. Yeah.

Holly: So they shared a little sneak peek. They also did a opening of it for cast members only last night. I'll get Ash to insert some pictures here. yes, that's coming to Disney Adventure World. Well, mainly Adventure Way in the Bay Area from 24th of July. So that is, when is that? Thursday.

Ash: Over the weekend. yeah, at the time of recording, yeah. w yeah, over the weekend ⁓ the members, yeah, they ⁓ they saw the preview and it looks pretty cool. production isn't long. I think it's like thirteen minutes. ⁓ but it is a cavalcade, so it's not supposed to be long. and you know, people are like, what was at night, so it's gotta be in night parade and ⁓ from what we know it's expected to in the day.

Holly: Yeah, it's a cow, kind of.

Ash: However, the floats are ready, quote unquote. because ⁓ I they are expecting to have this ⁓ run the where it gets dark earlier, so ⁓ probably yeah.

Holly: Mm. That's what I was gonna say. Yeah, it's not gonna be a nighttime thing. It just, when it gets dark at three o'clock in December, they'll have lights. Which will be quite nice, but I am still a bit like, gutted about losing Minnie's Marching Band if I'm being real.

Ash: Mm-hmm. Well, yeah, this is the thing now. don't like DLP's attitude of it's one or the other. ⁓ just don't know why you can't have both. ⁓ know, it's it's Mickey and magician altogether, you can't have both. Do you know I mean? It's i it's always something, ⁓ right? Pirates or Fun of the Mountain, you can't have both. ⁓ Right. Usually you'll ⁓ that's the case lot of the time.

Holly: Yes. Why can't we have both? Right. Because we can't. You can't have both.

Ash: And it's yeah, it's the same this and I'm they could find another route. I don't why that is conflicting. Calvocade's not gonna be continuous. So in between the they could do the ⁓ marching band even it's a day. Even if it's twice a day. ⁓ yeah, that that sucks that it's

Holly: marching band. Yeah. Right.

Ash: It's scheduled to end and I hope they bring it back in some form. But yeah, who knows?

Holly: I mean, yeah. Well, we'll see, but like, no shade to the culvert cave. Like I'm sure it's going to be great. And I've heard this song. I've heard the song. think the song's nice. yeah, just a shame. We could, like you say, we could have to have one or the other.

Ash: ⁓ it will be, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. right. ⁓ one is Disneyland Paris new plan, which has been leaked. is is it is it a leak? Because I don't think Disneyland Paris have officially announced. So it seems like it yeah, ⁓ it well seems like is a leak. There there are graphics out there showing the new plan where is boasting new flexibility.

Holly: Yeah, it's not been officially announced. Mm.

Ash: And you know, have it your way, Burger King style type of thing, where yeah, you can do things how you want. You can have your your breakfast and then your lunch or your dinner, and you don't have to have breakfast to have your lunch or your dinner. there are four new packages. So there is the essential package, which I is 18 restaurants, you've got the package, ⁓ which is 25, signature, which is and the royal.

Holly: Yeah.

Ash: Which I believe is only exclusive to Disneyland Hotel and is thirty-four restaurants that eligible on the royal I don't really still understand it. I'm a person that doesn't go for dining plans anyway. I get why people do. Because, you know, it you know, if you paid for it all advance, you don't have to worry about else. All you have to worry about is merch you know what I mean getting what you want to get at the shops and whatnot instead of having worry about taking it out of the budget for food. So in that respect, yeah. I've done I've done it, yeah, I've done it. I've done it once or twice, like fifteen years ago. So and

Holly: you have you ever done? Yeah. Yeah.

Ash: And this is why they've changed it now, I suppose, 'cause they're at that time it was very restrictive and it's like, Yeah, you can only have these three things on this menu for this and I'm like, What? don't want that. I want that. ⁓ well, that's not including the dining plan. So to credit, maybe they've changed it where they're like, No, you're this but you have anything on the dining plan and as long as it's included. ⁓ But

Holly: Yeah. Yeah.

Ash: Does it save you money or not? n they they say i if you book in advance for it will save you up to seventeen percent more. ⁓

Holly: because they charge like 40 quid for breakfast

Ash: is fifty Euros but if you book it now you can get it for the correct price that you will get it if you went there. So I don't know. ⁓ I not I'm ⁓ I'm totally convinced that it saves you I think it does save you ⁓ I think legally they have ⁓ it to save you money. I don't know how ⁓ I don't know on the grand scheme of things if it's a lot more saved than if was to go there. But I think yeah, I'm going on

Holly: I mean, I think it depends as well. Yeah.

Ash: too much about it now, but I love my food, so yeah. Go on.

Holly: Yes, I do. Why? But that's what I was about to say. I love my food and you know me, Ash. I like, eat. Yeah, yeah. And I'm a hungry, hungry woman. But ⁓ just don't think. You how quickly I ate that soup in waltz. ⁓ I don't think I would eat my money's worth.

Ash: Yeah, exactly. No, of course. Study. ⁓ Yeah God. yeah.

Holly: Especially on the higher packages like the places that I would like to eat just don't and it's like well, isn't it like per day? Like it's like it works out like whatever tier you choose It's like per person per day like some of the higher end ones with the restaurants that I would

Ash: Yeah. Forty Euros. goes like from forty Euros to Royal, is up to ninety Euros. No, ninety Euros a day. Or something but yeah, a hundred and seventy if you're doing it like a four

Holly: 170 or something. Yeah. As an individual, don't think I'd eat that much, personally. And it can vary day to day, like, I won't eat a sit down meal every day because I want to be doing other stuff, but I would eat, you know, little bits from the kiosks and stalls multiple times in one day and then maybe a quick service, but I still don't think, don't know. If like, if you...

Ash: So I would have a sit down meal every day, but not every meal. Like every I will be in a restaurant for one meal and the I'll just snack it. And I'll may it up. I'll may have lunch, sit down meal, for the evening I'll just snack it. Lunch, snack it, and then the meal I'll have a sit down do you know what I mean? Another day, but I will probably sit down at one point. I can't just k but that's just me.

Holly: Would you? Yeah. Yeah. Mind you, I'm saying this, I'm saying this because I've got a small child who won't sit still in a restaurant, so it's not what I would do. But if, for instance, when I go in September and I've got a few days to myself, I have books, sit down meals for those days because I'm like, well, a rare occasion that I'll be able to sit and eat in peace and quiet in a restaurant DLP. yeah. ⁓

Ash: Yeah. Just breaks it up a bit, isn't it? Of just like sitting down and just like, ⁓ for God's sake, let me just like, you know, rest my feet and eat rather than just eating on the go. you're constantly on the go anyway, do you know what I mean? So like when do get a break, sit down. But yeah. sure Disneyland Paris release that then you'll have a more details.

Holly: Yeah. Right. Yeah, which could be well, I mean the the dining plans it says on the dining plan from bookings from april 2027 So imagine we'll hear something fairly soon because I think isn't it september they released their bookings for the following year So I would imagine by september we would have heard something official but in ⁓ news The street horses and trolleys are set to be removed from circulation at disland paris. Boo

Ash: Yeah, yeah, that's right.

Holly: I'm a bit gutted about this. You don't see him out all that often anyway. What are your thoughts on it, man?

Ash: I've got a lot of thoughts on this. any normal person that's quite weird to talk about this in so much depth. But to anyone that knows me, I a Street nut like that where my heart is. Disneyland Paris has the main street the world, in my opinion. and

Holly: Yeah. No.

Ash: I just think So there's two tiers to it. I understand it, but I'm not happy with it. ⁓ banned public in ⁓ France already. are and w already. so the writing on wall because Disney previously, you know, they they they got rid of Buffalo Bills and they don't like to be the wrong side of things. But so was like what what can you know, it's always about reevaluating things and image Disney ⁓ ev images to Disney. and if you look the cost of practicality it, them isn't cheap. Right? ⁓ have a pony farm which think is ⁓ Doing that like it's over there, but it's like Frontierland is ⁓ that's they're housed, that's where they're trained, that's where they're cared for, rotated. and have limited operation as you just mentioned, like you hardly see them, right? They they own they only tend to operate in the morning. it's weather dependent and conditions aren't perfect, simply don't run, basically.

Holly: Yeah. Yeah.

Ash: So from Disney's perspective it's like, well horses that carry people is already a bad look in France. We're getting our money's worth because, you know, a fairly expensive operation. ⁓ So regardless the you know, vets and everything like that, regardless whether we're you know, people running or not, we're still paying the same price, you know. So it's basically a portion of money that's going out from Disney for ⁓

Holly: Mm.

Ash: guests that never actually really experience it. I've yet to remember when I went onto the horses as someone that's really gutted about it. Like ⁓ 'cause it usually comes out in the morning and ⁓ ⁓ the usually for around eleven ish. Like I I wake up early to go to the parks. I just ⁓ I I wake up and stay to the end rather than ⁓ go to extra magic where the p the the the ⁓

Holly: I've done it.

Ash: The horses would have been out and done by that time. ⁓ I that point in terms of image and and Yeah, it's like, what's point? Let's just get rid of it. ⁓ However, so with images, the horses just like n from the street, right? They pecherons, right? They're specifically trained horses that have been trained for this, they're looked cared And not like Buffalo where the horses had a much more intense and demanding schedule, ⁓ right? it just carrying a few people down the street in for an in the morning and that's it. So ⁓ I don't think the same. ⁓ And also I think everything that exists and this what Disney really is about. ⁓ I don't think everything exists in Disney should be based on what is, you know,

Holly: Yeah.

Ash: capacity or military gain or anything like that. I think pe things should just exist because it adds essentially. Do know what I mean? Like ⁓ it should for this is again me talking about kinetic ⁓ energy. When come the park and you see the horses ⁓ if awake early ⁓ right? You know, ⁓ if you don't on the horses that it brings just ⁓ a different energy to

Holly: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Ash: the park, right? You're hearing the hooves, you're hearing the ding ding, right? And then the music background. It just brings that kinetic energy is very hard to explain it's very easy to feel. And ⁓ like that aren't you you can't you can't capture that on spreadsheets and on bills. That you you can only capture that through memories and through feeling. ⁓ And so think in terms of Disney should just have it. but again

Holly: Yeah.

Ash: looking at it from the business side understand why. So yeah, ⁓ it's sad for me.

Holly: But didn't they say it was because needed the backstage space or something?

Ash: Well, there we are. I think easy to s to use that as the crutz ⁓ we we don't we you know, it's too expensive and you we don't want this image. But I think ⁓ something may be involved, is ⁓ that real backstage sorely l know, look know, high after with the park and ⁓

Holly: Yeah, you're probably right. Yeah, you said that to me. Yeah.

Ash: They're looking to do things to help in way or another Disney Adventure World or the park. So yeah, that if if you if you're asking Disney ⁓ what is what is under priority the future, it keeping horses or it's to help future expansions? on on what their answer's gonna be, isn't it? So But yeah, it is a bit it is a bit gutting.

Holly: Yeah, yeah. It is a bit. Because like you say, think you summed it up really nicely. Like it's that atmosphere in the bubble when you're on Main Street and hearing like, their hooves go down Street and things like that. It's not necessarily... Other would probably completely glide past that, but I completely understand what you mean like that will be missed for me.

Ash: Yeah, but know, who knows? electrical ones, right? know. I don't know. Your horses ⁓ God. depressive does that sound? ⁓ Next news is Melissa Valiquet has named S VP of operations Dizalan Paris.

Holly: AI horses? You No, that's me, Vaughn.

Ash: She for Disney in general, nerds there. She has been operations for Magic Kingdom and for Epcot Walt World. has ⁓ very good and has been sa you know, turned I think this comes as news of Christoph Murphy who did oversee operations, now going to CEO. And on the face of it, it looks good, it looks promising. have seen Americans come to Disneyland Paris, nothing and then go somewhere else. so I'm hoping isn't like yeah, I'm just gonna do this as a springboard to go to somewhere else, and that there is actual effective change in operations in DLP. But who knows? I know, I I wanna wish it all the best and hope that does work out. ⁓ But we'll see when we.

Holly: Mm. Thank Yeah, I mean, we'll wait and see what happens. Also news that's come out this week is that the Eurostar competitor Gemini, side note, never heard of them, has announced plans to operate services to Disneyland Paris from its hub in Stratford, also offering as Ebsfleet and Ashford. This is music to my ears. Also worth noting, this is not meant to start until 20.

Ash: Mm-hmm.

Holly: 30 But fantastic news because I hate I'm sorry Ash because when me and Ash go to DLP It's like I meet him in London. I've got to get a train from Kent London and then when we go to the other I'm going back. I'm sitting on the train. I'm going back the way I came to go to Disneyland Paris For us for those of us that live in sort of Essex and Kent areas is this is a game-changer because I miss being able to get on at Ashford or

Ash: Yeah. So Ha Yeah.

Holly: Ebb Street International, if I'm being perfectly honest. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same.

Ash: Yeah. and it makes sense, you know. I always said that I didn't like I don't any monopoly should should exist. And I and you know, I always ⁓ didn't like monopoly of Eurostar where they could just do what they want and cut services and say, Yeah, we're not doing that and what you're gonna about it and then of course crazy prices for it. ⁓ funny, the the of Gemini Adrian Quinn, says forecast growth

Holly: Mm-hmm.

Ash: Of the channel tunnel is enormous, yet only fifty percent of the slots on the track are currently used. a monopoly operator, has been has become lackluster and very expensive. We will shake things up by offering new routes, ⁓ stations, new trains, ⁓ interiors, ⁓ cheap affairs, and people to shift from plane to train. so yeah.

Holly: this is the thing that is so important like I'm not gonna start getting political but we're you know for the climate for the planet we should be using the train I want to use the train more it's incredibly easy for me to use the train I live opposite the sea when you're a star over covid to just completely stop running trains in Paris I couldn't genuinely I still think that is a mad decision And I thought maybe they'll bring it back because, you know, it's still incredibly popular. It's the most popular destination, tourist destination in Europe year on year. They still haven't brought it back. So now they've got this And also there's also been loads and loads of rumours of sitting over the years of Virgin starting a train route. So if they've got two competitors biting at their ankles, it should, you know, and this is only, what, three, four years away. It should really shake it up and I think it's something to be excited about because it makes travelling to Disneyland Paris so easy. When you don't have to change, I mean it's not terrible anyway, but when you don't have to change and you can jump on the and get door to door to, you know, our favourite place ever, yeah, fantastic.

Ash: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Like it's it's no no brainer, right? Do you know what I and I will if if they're saying no, direct Disneyland ⁓ Paris and coming out of Man Lavy Marie, sorry, Mar Marley station, just like we're to, where you would just look up and you go up the stairs and you're there, ⁓ then ⁓ mate, that you I ⁓ do now

Holly: Right, so I can hear. Yep, you're there, yeah. Wow, yay.

Ash: like people still do the whole Lil thing but I find that far too expensive. I I just go to Gardenor and I take the R E R. ⁓ And be fair, I don't know, maybe it's ⁓ because done it so many times I don't I don't it now. I've kind of ⁓ numbed to ⁓ But it mean that if there's yeah, it's not the worst, but it doesn't mean if there's a much easier and faster ⁓ just as cheap, if cheaper, route and I wouldn't take it. Of course I'll take it, so ⁓ yeah.

Holly: Yeah. It's not the worst. But at the moment there's no alternative really, is there? You've got to change somewhere.

Ash: No, and that's the whole point what Gemini's saying. You got it, you got it. So funny ⁓ thing well naming the news is Locana. Is that right? Is that how I'm pronouncing it? Locan ⁓ Locana Cards Frenzy. So has been a frenzy of Locana cards that was released over the ⁓ worldwide. Worldwide. and

Holly: Look on, I guess. That's right, Friday.

Ash: There have been videos people camping out, fighting, rushing ⁓ to these cards. as far as Walt Disney World in Florida, World of Disney Disneyland Paris and even on our own home turf at ⁓ Disney store on Street. So yeah, I I'm not a low ⁓ Yeah, they had to close the and call police.

Holly: on Oxford Street. To the point they had to close the shop.

Ash: I'm not a Locana fa ⁓ cards fan, I I never got it. I think you are slightly into it. ⁓ could you explain what the hell's going on?

Holly: I am, yeah. Okay, so be honest, I don't even really know. ⁓ a lot of, this is going slightly off subjects. Pokemon cards has had a massive resurgence in the last couple of years. My other half collects Pokemon cards. He doesn't trade them. He doesn't sell them. He just loves collecting them. And I get it. actually the last couple of ⁓ weeks, last couple of months, I'll say, I've been going with him to the card shop. And our local card shop, they're really great. Shout out. We love collectibles. They're fantastic in there. I was talking to one of the girls there about the Lorcan cards and she was like, well, if you're into Disney, why not? It's not as big as Pokemon, but it's going to get bigger. And I was like, I've bought the last couple of sets and yeah, it basically what it is, it's a trading card game. It's a trading card game. Of the Disney characters, there's different themes for each set. buy it because I like the artwork. That's it. But people, now it's getting more popular, because it's more popular, the cards are now worth, especially like the really rare cards, like the enchanted, the epics, the legendaries, those, it's like the full artwork cards, I'll send Ash a image to put in here of like one of the chase cards from the latest set. Those cards can now be worth thousands of pounds. Yeah. ⁓

Ash: Yeah, but why has it gone nuts though? Why are people fighting over it? For people that watch it. Thousands of pounds.

Holly: The last set, the Wilds Unknown set, the chase card was a full artwork Buzz Lightyear. That card is now worth five and a half grand. It's hard to get. and actually was happening in the Disney store, it was a launch day. So it was a new pack called Attack of the Vine, which I ⁓ was lucky to get because I have a nice card shop that let me pre-order them. But there was also, I think it was...

Ash: Wow.

Holly: I mean, people will correct me if I'm wrong. I didn't actually know about this. The set that people were fighting over was like a curator's collection. It was called like the heroine set and it was all princesses in like a special limited edition box. that was being sold at Disney stores, at parks. And I that's what the commotion was about. I think it was also the new launch, but they also had these limited edition collectors box sets as well. But yeah, the videos have been crying. When I saw it at Disney Village, people were literally over barriers and pushing people over. I was like, what the hell is going on? Yeah, like long jump. ⁓

Ash: One guy like jumped over and yeah, that's and lung jumped and almost like and like he probably could have broke and that's ⁓ just embarrassing. Do you know what I mean? Could you imagine having to explain what what happened why why have you what what happened there, Dad? How come'd you had a why could got that scar? Where did that from? I was an operation. Really? Well what I I ⁓ you know, jumped ⁓ barriers to get some cards.

Holly: Yeah. Yeah. For cards.

Ash: And I snapped my arm in two places and had to go and get surgery. just don't get it. I just don't get it. But, you know, ⁓ have their things. ⁓

Holly: You better hope this doesn't happen in the model village community Ash. You'll be fighting tooth and nail for your model villages.

Ash: Wow. It's on people. It's on. right. So there ⁓ one news. Is ⁓ there more news? Do we gotta leave this to the last one?

Holly: It's It's all... Yes, sorry. Leave this the last one. Yeah. And forgive me if I'm pronouncing his name wrong. Don Ivers has passed away. So he was a Disney legend, a pioneer in the development of numerous camera projection and other technical systems for Disney parks and films. He passed away on the evening of July 9th at the age of 96.

Ash: Mm-hmm. Ash: well wishes to the to the family ⁓ yeah ⁓ a novel legend of ⁓ that has passed. right have news not so It's it's it's funny. We wanted to speak about things. We're gonna on with the heat wave at Disneyland ⁓ Holly went A couple weeks ago I went just ⁓ last and we experienced a heat wave at Diseland Paris. slightly different experiences, but what was experience? how was it for you and what was it like? ⁓

Holly: Yeah. First of all, I'm gonna, before I start talking about my experience, I'm gonna play you my experience felt like the minute I out of the car. Wait one minute. need to find the sound. Where is it? Here it is. Are you ready? This is what it sounded like the minute we got out of the car.

Ash: That's loud.

Holly: It was 41 degrees.

Ash: Bloody hell.

Holly: It was so hot. It was so hot. To the point where... I don't feel like I had a Disney holiday and like do you know what it's we knew that it was going to be hot like we were looking like oh what can you do about it you literally can't do about it people were cancelling people changing it was our daughter's birthday so I didn't want to change it I tell you what I am going to talk about the saving grace of being in the heatwave at Disneyland Paris at the end of June was our accommodation

Ash: Ha ha

Holly: because I stayed somewhere, I've never stayed before honestly, I'm kicking myself for not staying there before, because it was blooming brilliant. We stayed at Davy Crockett Ranch. Now, we been staying at any other sort of onsite hotel, I think we would have been royally screwed, because ⁓ if stayed in like any, I mean, I don't know what the Disneyland Hotel's like, but most of the hotel rooms I've stayed in during summertime don't really have aircon.

Ash: Okay.

Holly: So we've, we had this lodge at Davy Crocket Ranch and was... No. I can remember staying in like Sequoia and it being like pathetic. Yeah.

Ash: Well, definitely Santa Santa Fe don't, but the rest usually ⁓ Really? I don't know if it's good but it definitely ha I mean York and Newport Bay. But you probably were in the better ⁓ probably were in the best place aside probably Disneyland Hotel.

Holly: Yeah. Honestly, I think that was our saving grace because can I just say if you're thinking of booking going the Davy Crockett ranch I mean, I don't know how good it be in the winter can't comment on that The cabins were really clean. They had everything you needed really nicely done out You've got a lovely outdoor area the pool blew me away. That is the best swimming pool I've had on site at Disneyland Paris Yeah in in Paris. Yeah

Ash: On Disney property, really, yeah? Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Holly: Honestly, I've always I love the Newport Baypool. I still like the Newport Baypool, but if you've got children especially children under the age of 10 in fact actually that like if you've got kids you will enjoy they've got a slide. They've got like a little lazy river They've got like a splash pad. The swimming pool itself is massive. They've got like a baby pool They've got Jacuzzi's like it was and it's immaculate Like my other half, he's quite funny. like, do you know, he pulls normally gross him out and he is like, he won't get in things if they're not. said, he said, I can't find a fault in it here. That's how good it was. But yes, the new lodges at Davy Crockett Ranch, the air con then was divine. There's an air con unit in every room. we did spend, I would say like 80 % of our four days at DLP, hiding in the cabin with the AC on full watt. ice cold or at the Blue Springs Port at Davy Crockett Ranch because it was just that hot. We managed maybe up until midday and then we would have to go back and then we'd do maybe eight till 10, 11 o'clock of an evening because we were getting up and it was 35 degrees at eight o'clock in the morning and once it started to get in 38, 39 it's just... you know, when you've got small children you can't walk around in it anymore.

Ash: That's crazy.

Holly: I haven't really thought about a trip report, so I'm probably just blabbering.

Ash: No, no. fine. what you think how do think D L P handed it while you was there?

Holly: Do you know what? I just think people were giving them too much of a hard time. You know, in Europe, now seeing temperatures we've never really experienced before and we're not built to deal with. I it came on very quickly that week that we were there. like literally started on the Monday or the Tuesday. We arrived on the Wednesday and it just is...

Ash: Yeah, that's right. It was very sudden, wasn't it? I remember talking to you about it of like, Ho, do you know like the next couple of days it's gonna be ten degrees higher than it ⁓ it is now? ⁓

Holly: Yeah, it was one I've actually sent you a screenshot to insert for those people for the people watching on YouTube. It was like, day we were there, it was breaking a new record. So it's like record high of 41 degrees, 42 degrees. was it it was quite scary, you know, and I have to say, Joe, I take my hat off. I think Disney Paris, they're not going to close, right? It's at the end of the day, it's a business. And

Ash: Ha ha ha.

Holly: I felt quite sorry for the cast members because people were taking their hangups out on them. They don't deserve it. They're standing there in full, you know, uniforms. get costume, uniforms. We didn't have parades. We didn't have fireworks. Do you know what? Fine. I couldn't have stood there in that heat and watched the parade, let alone somebody be in a parade. was Stitch Week. I didn't see any of that.

Ash: Costume, yeah. Did you see anything? No? Nothing happened?

Holly: No, I didn't. But you know what, like they had characters in Lilo and Stitch characters in Arcade Beta or Alpha underneath the Diopolis. I saw that. The queue was horrendously long for that. But I didn't see the 626 thing, but I'm rambling on again. I think the Diopolis dealt with it okay.

Ash: Yeah. Right, yeah. Interesting. You was there during the week that a lot of were there sorry. you were there during the week a lot of for some a lot of American vloggers were going over as well. You had Chris Park Provost Park Pass, ⁓ you had Mammoth you had Tim Tracker, yeah. did you see any of them? ⁓ No? ⁓ I think probably just hiding. ⁓ Yeah, yeah, which is fair, be honest with you.

Holly: Yeah. him and Jen Trapper. No. No, I was hiding away in the shade. and What was I going to say? How's DLP deal with it? I mean, I think they did the best they could in the circumstances and how quickly it come on. Like they weren't using fireworks. were, know, all parades or shows were adapted or canceled. You know, it is what it is. Rides were closing ⁓ about midday. You know, if you didn't get on Big Thunder Mountain first thing in the morning, you weren't getting on it until... Nine o'clock at night because it's just unsafe for the right outdoor rides to run in those sort of temperatures Yeah, every outdoor attract if wonder if Steve's got still got the screenshot so Steve was like look, we'd come back at lunchtime because It was just unbearable. It's getting to like 40 the temperature was getting to like 40 degrees and We'd the app and then anything that wasn't an indoor attraction was then shut which ⁓

Ash: So even Big Funda Mountain was closing. Closed, yeah.

Holly: I think for safety of guests, safety of cast members and also for the rides to, you know, not combust or something. There was something else that I wanted to mention as well. ⁓

Ash: It's funny, you mentioned about the adaptation of parades or floats. I saw a video and I know if you was there to see it ⁓ live, ⁓ the splashes colour, of course, ⁓ was there was darts sig. ⁓ They were wearing which was fine, and the floats looked like the had the theming, but it was different music, it was magic everywhere, like the old parade. ⁓ Which I love parade song, but it was it's it was like

Holly: I think I know what you're going to say, but yeah. Yeah, yeah. ⁓ My favourite pray song. My favourite pray song. But it was just Mickey. It was just Mickey. It was just Mickey on a million splashes float and it was so jarring because it's like magic everywhere. Have I transported back to 2010? Because for those of you don't know magic everywhere was the it was my favorite parade to this day my favorite parade and it was for the 20th anniversary but like I understand just putting just putting like well I mean I don't really

Ash: ⁓ am I l losing it or what? What's exactly. ⁓ I'm like, what is going on? ⁓

Holly: poor Mickey. Mickey's there on the million spashes fight but why did they change the music? It was so random and it was really quick as well they just they just whizz him along like imagine everywhere

Ash: don't know, that's what I mean. I have no idea. Like I could understand ⁓ yeah, maybe because that music is short shorter Minion Splashes of Colour, but it not really. Yeah, yeah, exactly. So don't understand. ⁓ literally don't understand. I like, Is it two thousand and fifteen again? Why is Magic Everywhere playing? ⁓ was it it was really, really funny.

Holly: It used to be a whole full parade. I mean, I'm not hating on it because I was like, this is music to my ears because I miss that. I miss that song. I'm trying to think of anything else that like really...

Ash: Yeah. Yeah.

Holly: Like lot of the kiosks had to close, which understandable, like they don't have aircon and stuff. Yeah, I was getting to that. So the day it was the hottest, right? The hottest day we were there. We'd gone back in of an evening to do some rides in Disneyland parks. Obviously they reopened, so like Big Thunder Mountain had reopened and some outdoor rides reopened.

Ash: Gibson Gill?

Holly: and we thought, ⁓ we'll go and stand on Main Street as the sun's going down, you know, it's a bit more bearable now and we'll go and get an ice cream. Denied. On the hottest day France has ever seen, and I mean, since that day, it has never been as hot as that day. The Gibson Girl was closed. I couldn't get an ice cream. I just thought that was really funny and such a DLP thing to do. Like, understandable if they don't have any way of calling the staff members on there, but it's like, that's the only place you can get an ice cream. And I just thought that was really funny. I think I was with my friend Britt, shout out to Britt, and it was day before her birthday and she was like, but I really want ice cream. So she mobile ordered a magnum from Casey's. ⁓

Ash: Yeah, well. That that's hilarious. Yeah. Exactly. Just have to be have to be savvy with it, I suppose. ⁓

Holly: But she was like, do know what mean? Yeah, and things and also like when we watched cascades because see cascades was adapted I didn't see the drones the first time I saw it which was back in march when I went to the frozen preview And this time I had drones, but I didn't have fireworks. So one day i'll get to see it properly and it's cool But I was like, ⁓ I really want to try one of those hot dogs from cafe luminosity And there was still people queuing. So was like go and get a couple of hot dogs while we you know get

Ash: Yeah. Yeah.

Holly: get our spot for cascades. As go to join the queue, Cosmo's like, no, we're closing now.

Ash: Yeah. It's crazy.

Holly: It's nine o'clock. The show's not on till 1040. No, we're closing now. So that's the only out of all the things I think DLP dealt with it as best they could. It is and that's what I mean. I just I don't know why it was closing but it was just like there was like there's a few little things I was like, ugh, like it's really hot and I can't get a drink easily. I can't get an ice cream easily and I can't have a hot dog when I watch the nighttime spectacular. these things really that ⁓ big of a deal? ⁓ ⁓

Ash: I think that's a D L P thing to do anyway, even without an a he heatwave.

Holly: No. felt like the misters didn't really do anything. Do know what? I'm a glass half full kind of person so was it the best trip I've ever had? No, of course it wasn't. But we have to adapt and we have to get on and we made the most of it. If that meant spending four or five hours a day in the parks in separate, you know, chunks, it what it is. Overall it was fine. I don't know if I'll book to go for my daughter's birthday again, because this is the second heatwave I've had for her birthday. What about you? Let's talk about Ash's trip to...

Ash: Yeah, that's crazy. So I went I went not at the time this recording over week ago. ⁓ and you there was a bit of a break. Sim similar to the UK where it was really hot and then it cooled down and then it to heat up again and I came back when it was up again. ⁓ and it was ⁓

Holly: Mm. Yeah.

Ash: Thirty-eight thirty-seven thirty-eight felt like forty while was And I was because from what went it like you know didn't really have the answers of to adapt or make it better, but One thing I did see from DLP is effort. And will have effort override execution ⁓ the time. ⁓ do you know I mean? If you if you're just trying, may not be perfect, but you're trying to do something, I will forgive it. Because know that you're trying. you don't give a toss, do you know what I mean? Then f then it'll be like, What you doing?

Holly: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah.

Ash: And sometimes the LP could be like that. But this time they weren't. They were generally like, look, learned our mistake from the first wave. We're gonna do a lot more this time. So expanding on the misters. ⁓ s you know, the actual mists coming out. They had that a lot more. ⁓ lot more. Disney in ⁓ the Disney they had the

Holly: Yeah. Yeah, you did. You had way more than we did.

Ash: I don't know people recognise this, but there are fire hydrants throughout the park. They have to have it legally. for anything, right? With fire. and basically what they just did is they just had those on and then just brought out hoses and then punctured them ⁓ and let water spray. ⁓ Yeah. so, had that in Frontierland, you had like ⁓ Big Thunder Mountain, you that just like in that

Holly: Yeah, perforated fire hose, yeah.

Ash: area bit where you could take a photo in front of Funda Mountain, you in just between Molly Brown ⁓ and Fender Mountain, that like bit of area. They had that there. ⁓ You further up you had it near Cowboy Cookout. you had it ⁓ outside Fantasyland, the well entrance Fantasy Land you're leaving

Holly: And yeah, yeah, yeah.

Ash: Adventureland, you you had it almost completely everywhere. And there Casey Juniors, ⁓ was just all of these places and I'm just coming for the top of my head now of all the places that I've seen and I'm sure there's more. Of hoses just spraying people with water all the time. and I that was nice. That was a fun thing to see. They did ⁓ a lot stores open. Not just the brick mortar stores like Gibson Girls, but they also had a lot of

Holly: Yeah. Yeah.

Ash: like stores, you know, when they're pushing the the trailer carts ⁓ you can just ⁓ like a magnum magnum. They have any popcorn carts open. ⁓ but would people weren't too about getting popcorn on thirty eight degree and were loads of massive to a magnum and I was looking going, why are you guys waiting for I wouldn't wait in the heat just to an ice cream but

Holly: Yeah, what about the popcorn cards? Hmm, say yeah. No.

Ash: It it it you know, people did. I on to pirates ⁓ numerous to get away from the heat. Forty ⁓ waits pirates forty minute waits, which crazy, but ⁓ you

Holly: Did you have to queue outside?

Ash: People queued outside, yeah. People queued outside.

Holly: No, so like if you were in, if you joined the 40 minute queue, was you in the outside queuing area before you go into show building? See, it's funny, isn't it? Because I had big fun de-mountain whilst I there, but Pirates was down for refurbishment and you had the opposite of that. Ash was almost more fortunate, I would say, because Pirates won't go down because of the heat, because it's inside.

Ash: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. you you you had you ha you had that. you know, had a lot more mysteries in in Disney Adventure and they have discrete ones so it doesn't it's not as obvious and you're just walking like, Ooh, where did that s you know, come from? And then you're ⁓ seeing it ⁓ in a exactly. You but it was crazy, know, I saw a kid put his head into the frozen fountain, just literally

Holly: Yeah. Where did that little refreshing birth come from? ⁓ that's been a- that's always a thing. Where ever there's a fountain. Where ever there's- I'm sure people can remember from years back- way back when whenever it used to get hot in DLP, people would literally bathe their children in their Plaza Gardens fountain. Can you remember that, Ash? It's just what happens here. Guests- guests do what they like.

Ash: Drowning himself. Yeah, my god. ⁓ my god. ⁓ yeah. Guests do what they like, you know. I ⁓ walking the cu in hub and I'm seeing them on the next to the popcorn stand, just lying down in the on the grass Discovery Land, right Space Mountain and just all on that grass ⁓ on the gr ⁓ yeah, on the verge ⁓ the railway station.

Holly: Yeah, you saw a bit of that. on the verge, like by the railway station. Lorde!

Ash: on the grass next to Utopia just down. where Videopolis where people charge their phones. I saw guy just literally planked Face forced. ⁓ And I'm like, ⁓ my god, the heat is killing people. ⁓

Holly: The only thing I saw. I saw a lot of very weary children asleep on top of parents in the arcades, believe it or not. I actually came out of the Emporium and had to step over a little boy who was fast asleep, very hot and sweaty, him. That's all I saw really, people were like, ⁓ flies, like just like laying sprawled out in the arcades whenever I went in them. And it, it really was just like that hot. They did sort of come up with, well, while we were there, celebration, the old Frozen show, they turned that into a cooling zone and threw a towel over the Sven animatronic. ⁓

Ash: They That's brilliant. But so yeah, know, it it seemed like Disney were caught off guard, DLP were caught off guard when you went, and it back again at the time I went, they're like, Okay, we we've got something to do it. Not many things closed. ⁓ Molly Brown was so I'm surprised that Thunder Mountain was was down due to heat. then when I went

Holly: Yeah. Yeah. I didn't get to go on it!

Ash: The same heat was there and Molly Brown was open. Now, their credit, they didn't have the top, which love top. That's my favourite part of the Molly Brown. It's going right at the top near the American at the back. ⁓ But

Holly: Yeah. What were the new scenes like? Tell me, because I didn't get to see them, because I didn't get to go on it. Okay.

Ash: So the scenes were okay. The scenes were okay. You probably may appreciate it more than I did. But I was like, ⁓ okay, yeah, yeah, they've got the horse the cattle there now, okay. They're grey, they don't really massively stand out. But the geysers were working. So I took a video, I was like, Yep, Holly's gonna love this, let me take a video. And then colleagues who I worked with, I went with Fred was a little like, what? It was just they're like, No mate, you don't understand this is a big deal to Holly. ⁓

Holly: Yeah. Hey, they had the guys working as well, so like... I did very much enjoy it. I did. You don't understand guys, okay?

Ash: So ⁓ it was it they a lot more things open. The only things that they still kept closed was Dumbo, What else did they I I feel I feel like they had something else closed as ⁓ no. N the the the you know teacups were still. ⁓ I ⁓ I I I went I even went on to Peter Pan's flight. I never got to Peter flight. That's how hot it was. ⁓ I had to do do something to get into shade.

Holly: Was Casey Jr. closed? Yeah, no, love them. I know I saw that. I never do I.

Ash: I was like, all right, let's just think of some novel things to do just to get into the shade. And I really and I realised how jerky that is. I couldn't take d I think I took like one photo which was clear. Every photo was just blurry because you go in and you just like then you go in like that and like they'll they'll hardly give you a chance to take your photo, do you?

Holly: How long was the key to that? Do you know what I hate? When it finishes, you know when it comes to a stop at the end by the mermaids and it goes and then you're like ⁓ my back ⁓ look because it's lap I like break your ribs ⁓

Ash: Ha ha. Yeah. yeah, it was it was just crazy. But it they they had a lot more open yeah, Orbitron was closed as well, sorry. ⁓ yeah, was closed and Orbitron was closed. Basically, ⁓ any that was gonna take you closer to the sun, they closed it. ⁓

Holly: Yeah, yeah, Obotron, yeah. Actually, was all typing it, I think. What about all Tokyo?

Ash: Uutopia was closed as well, yeah, actually, that's a good point. Autopia was closed. yeah. they they did a lot more ⁓ to it easier within their do you know what I mean? They're not god, they can't control the weather, so it was just like ⁓ it is it is, they're not gonna cancel it. ⁓ But from yeah, still ⁓ and this is I'm like. W no matter what weather is like.

Holly: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they did. yeah but did you enjoy yourself

Ash: Would you prefer that weather at home or would you prefer at Disland Paris? And I'll pick Disneyland Paris ten times out of ten.

Holly: ⁓ at Disney, absolutely. Just, you know, and also you have to know...

Ash: ⁓ you go I've been to Disneyland Paris and it's pissed itself down every day I've been there. And you know, and I take it the kids like, ⁓ it's bloody cr it's cr it's been miserable, ain't it? And I goes, Yeah, okay. But it's miserable at home a lot of times as well. Would you rather be here or would you rather be at home when it's raining? And goes, Yeah, yeah, I suppose. do you know what I mean? And that's kind of how you have to look at it. ⁓ know, I d I didn't see the magic everywhere splashes of colour, adaptation or whatever weird thing that was. ⁓ would have, I would have. ⁓

Holly: Yeah, minus five. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Damn, you would have appreciated that. Just zooming past on a crazy coloured float, animators palette style with magic everywhere. It's like, was such an oxymoron of things going on.

Ash: But I know. Yeah. But I did see the drones come back for Tales of Magic. And that was an absolute mind. Like, ⁓ my goodness. the hell? What is going on? I like w I I saw like you know Mufasa and all of that and I was like, This is amazing. because, you know, constantly we was hearing ladies and gentlemen, and girls, today's production

Holly: You did! I was very happy to be a bit gutted. Yeah.

Ash: It's cancelled. Feg do you know we had a lot of this like ⁓ okay, whatever, whatever. ⁓ like you just hear that throughout the day and the fireworks have now been can you know, due to like French law. But I know the drones were coming back. And yeah, the drones have been extended to like the nineteenth. So at the time this recording it's still going on. ⁓ but I was thinking if you can still do that, yeah, for Tales of Magic and for Cascades, like again, why is it a

Holly: Yeah, yeah, we had that a lot as well. Yeah, always been. ⁓ Yeah. Yeah. Just bring them back, though! I still do this thing!

Ash: Eve Raw for Disneyland Paris.

Holly: Right, right, right. I still to this day, I mean, I'm sure there is a legitimate reason. Pete, I've heard rumblings of, they're doing the castle bridge and they've just redone all the roofs in fantasy, the roofs in fantasy land and drones have been damaging them. I don't know, but like, I just think, come on, like, if you can't perform with fireworks, you should be performing with drones. And I don't, still don't.

Ash: Yeah. A hundred percent. Especially with D L P that was leading the way for the drones. can't now just like yeah, yeah.

Holly: We still are, think. We still are, I think. know, and seeing the drones for Cascade of Lights, I was thinking, do you know what? It was really quite... The drones that we... The technology that we have for both shows in the parks are amazing, but like you say, why has it got to be one or the other? Like I say, I'm sure there is a valid explanation, and I was so happy for you that you got to see the drones for Tales of Magic, because I know you really love Tales of Magic. I only saw it...

Ash: So yeah, I do. I love Tales we went on so we went on the first night and we watched Tales of the Magic and they and okay and goes so sure what do you wanna do? Do you wanna watch Cascades first and then Tales of Magic the second night? Because that you've seen it all. ⁓ Because yeah, do that. And so we had a to go to Royal banquet. ⁓ And by the time ⁓ finished, you know, I was Look

Holly: Yeah. Yeah. Slush, love it.

Ash: Can we get in early? And they managed to get us in like half an hour earlier. yeah, we saw you know my castle club and you know, shout out to them and other that you that the the pod. and by the time we we're Well, Tales of Magic is about I can't like ⁓ can't be asked to walk let's watch Tales of Magic now and then we'll watch ⁓ Cascades Tomorrow and like yeah, sound. we watched Tales of Magic. And it was just as normal. We expect it to be. There wasn't gonna be any fireworks and there wasn't any drones. far, fine. And I don't know how the date I can't remember why the turned out as it did, but they wanted to watch Tales of Magic again. And ⁓ I really at it 'cause I didn't really about Cascades. So like, okay, cool. I'll me take you around Adventure Way 'cause I think you would like it looking at it at night. So we showed him c Adventure Way at night and like, yeah, this looks pretty

Holly: Mm. Good job you did. you

Ash: really nice, peaceful. Alright, let's watch Tales of Magic. then I'm now I'm just sitting on Main Street while people are standing because I'm like it's for them. Do you know what I mean? I I'm I'm here four times a year at ⁓ at and like, my faster I was like what? And I stood up and I goes, ⁓ my God and I was losing it absolutely losing it because didn't expect to see drones. And so I was just yeah it was a great experience for me as well to like see the drones back again.

Holly: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I don't I'm not a very good... Yeah. Yeah.

Ash: ⁓ and so yeah, you you you're right, they should they should bring it back.

Holly: I think you've got the option to do both, I don't know why they're not doing both. I'd love to know the reason why, because I just feel like, like ⁓ said, had a great trip at DLP and I always do. the heat if I to summarize my trip, the heat wave made me do things that I don't normally do at DLP and that wasn't necessarily a bad thing, because ⁓ I think you go regularly, like we do, And like me and my other half, we all have our favorite and our routines that we do at DLP. And it forced us to reevaluate that and try different things. And for the most part, like I still had an amazing time when I was there. I met a lot of like friends. I met some of you guys. It was my friend Britt's birthday. So we were always celebrating in the park and we watched Cascade of Lights and... you know, got to do some rides together and it, yeah, I just think, yeah, it was, you know, it wasn't ideal, the temperatures we were seeing in the parks, but it forced us to sort of take it slowly and appreciate things a little bit more.

Ash: Yeah, yeah. I'm I'm hardly in like Main summer, usually spring summer I'm either Florida or Anaheim and a lot of the it's mainly Anaheim. So to experience than Paris in summer, after a while was ⁓ And, you know, if just say, Yeah, I've done it in the summer, I know what it's like. It it's it's good. But, you know, shout out to all cast members. ⁓

And I don't know, I don't know about you, but I was making a point like whenever I was, spent a bit of time in Star Tour and Star Traders and I was chatting to the cast members in there and I was every, every place that I went, even if I was just buying a drink, if I was getting food or like picking up some merch, I was making a point or saying to any cast member that I interacted with basically like, are you okay? Like are you holding up okay? Like how you doing? Because I know that while I was there, their union was there. with a temperature gun ⁓ fighting for them to say like, should, was arguments, I think, between head ups in DLP and cast members that they weren't allowed to roll their sleeves up. But after I saw that their union was there, the next day they all had their sleeves rolled up. So I thought, even still, not really gonna cool them down, is it?

Ash: Really interesting. Yeah, no. yeah, know, they are my favourite of the they are the make or break of your Disney experiences. It will be the cast members. ⁓ So, yeah, thank Alright, think that's probably of that I've got for experience in Heat Wave and yours. ⁓ Yeah.

And the next day I was in the main part for majority of time and then I took them to Dizzy Adventure because wanted them to see it ⁓ like twilight evening.

Ash: And then again, because I took them again during Twilight Evening, that the the the I didn't go that way. we went on all the right went, you know, ⁓ crushes and whatnot. Tower of Terror. of was seventy five minutes. ⁓ nuts. We went f frozen. they loved frozen. So like we did everything but we really much of the food at

Holly: Didn't go that way. I to say something about how hot it was.

Ash: Disney Adventure World.

Holly: It's better in adventure world. Anyway, that's what I was going to... Before we move on to the last segment and we wrap this up, it was so hot while I was there that the, know, the bridge that connects sort of like where Cars Road Trip and World of Frozen is, that the one opens, it got stuck open. It got so hot that it warped open and they had to hose it down to get it shut. Yeah.

Ash: It is. That's insane. Yes. Yeah, I heard about that. That's what they do now. They they hose it down. So that that happened when you was there as well then?

Holly: It got, no, it was the first time it got wedged open. Like it was closed and it opened for cascades and we were standing, you know, like the priority area by World of Frozen. We was in that bit and then we was like sort of hanging around talking after the show and stuff. And then yes. And then next morning they were like, yeah, we still can't close it. It was on like, I think DLP report posted it like, cause it was still open. We had to go the other way around. We couldn't go that way round for the whole next day. Cause it was wedged open. Yeah.

Ash: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No. I did have the French soup at So you ⁓ Yeah, did, yeah, yeah, exactly. We had that together. So yeah, ⁓ heat wave hack, just have French soup at Rosalie and then you'll be in air conditioned room. ⁓ yeah. time, of course. Alright, ⁓ next segment on main is twenty three. D twenty of course.

Ash: is the Disney Disney event where the company will have a lot of announcements in entertainment, in studios as well as parks, of course, where we focus on. And they did lot of announcement the one. did ⁓ they they they over know, they superseded themselves. They a lot.

Ash: So think now gonna with predictions of what ⁓ what they announce for Disneyland Paris. ⁓ I think think there will be announcements. ⁓ There be ⁓ Yeah, I think maybe. But yeah, I think what we're gonna do is ⁓ share our thoughts on is realistic announcements then

Holly: Mm-hmm. there'll be something, whether that something will be interesting or not, I don't know. Yeah.

Holly: So I think I have gone for the really obvious option. I think we're going to see the 35th

Holly: I think we're going to maybe hear a song for a new parade or artist's of new parade. I think we're going to see maybe a little bit more about Lion King and more from the up attraction and that is what I don't think we're going to get more than that if I'm being real with you. I'll be very surprised if we get more than that. That's just me being matter of factly about it. I think we've got the 35th coming up this year.

Ash: Okay. Yeah.

Holly: I think it would be ridiculous if they didn't even just show the logo of what the 35th is going to be. Bet you it's like a fancy 35 with blue into pink or purple. Never been done before. Never been done before for Disneyland Paris. And everyone will go bananas over it. Just give us a big move.

Ash: That's yeah. Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ so I've got realistic predictions. got release date for Lion King ⁓ land and a name. I don't think they're just gonna call it Lion Kingland. I think they're gonna give it a name. ⁓ So No, the name of the land, like Pride Lands or something like that. ⁓ Or of Lion King they know if it'd probably be World of Lion King.

Ash: Just like world of frozen. But I wouldn't put it past them. That's what I mean. I wouldn't put it past them. It'll be it's gotta be the Pride Lands. And I do think that is realistic actually, because I think after seven years, think Stars and I think a lot of the community and fans of the park actually want a new parade now. I think we're all kind of a bit like, to the point where like I say, I never watch it. I never stand and watch the parade anymore. No, it's not like magic.

Holly: See, that's what my wild card is. I think that they are gonna announce that. Yeah, I think gonna just say it right here right now. I think if gonna get a big announcement in terms of big announcements, it will be, that part is and it's gonna Moana themed.

So was all talking about and not just me Holly but like content creators general were like, ⁓ yeah, look, they've got Navi, it's be Avatar and ⁓ it could be, ⁓ like it but could all could also change their mind if they wanna, 'cause Disneyland Paris has done that. ⁓ But Moana has been one that has been and signs have been pointing to Moana lot more.

That whenever there's like, oh there's gonna be announcements at Disneyland Paris, there will always be a handful of people on Twitter, Instagram, in the Easter out there be like, bring back the moon!

Holly: Because have all that dead bit of land. I I don't think that Disneyland Paris want Discoveryland to be in the state they're in. And I just think, I just don't any time in Discoveryland. Like I go I go on Star Tours. Well, I like Star Tours and I like Star Wars and I like hyperspace mountain, but like once I've done those things, I'm getting, I'm slinging me. I'm getting the hell out of there.

Ash: Yeah, you don't give a toss about it at all. Yeah.

Holly: I don't want to be there because it's not a nice vibe. You're telling me that Discoveryland has the same vibe as Frontierland? I could spend all day in Frontierland or Adventureland just taking in the vibe, taking in the soundtrack, the background music, just hanging out. I walk in Discoveryland and I'm like the ghetto, ghetto.

But I I think I think I think Mountain will I think Star Tours will begin the extension starts and Marital will end where the Verns overlay brings you. come in, you'll see Orbitron, you'll Nautilus, you'll Vidiopolis the left, and you'll see Space Mountain, ⁓ and then beyond that it takes to Star Wars.

Holly: Really? Mm. what I think. I think in that expansion pad they have

Ash: But but again, a part of that part of that would be Space Mountain not being hyperspace mountain, have to be back to the moon.

Holly: Yeah. No, I haven't said anything substantiated.

Ash: They won't expand it and they'll just get rid of the roller coaster bring ⁓ dark ride. But I don't I don't I don't know. ⁓

Holly: I don't think they'll get rid of a coaster. I don't think they will. ⁓ I forgot one. I forgot one and it is fairly realistic. One of my other predictions was Newport Bay getting a renovation because we saw so much of that leaked like...

And then there was also a survey and that was like, mean, gosh, that must be like at least six months or so ago now, maybe even longer, that sort of touched on that on the pod. And I feel like, you know, that Sequoia is wrapping up its ⁓ renovation ⁓ the of next year, ⁓ I think it wouldn't surprise me then the Newport Bay will have its renovation.
